Eligibility

Children must be between 5 and 12 years old,
graduated kindergarten, and be enrolled
in the Warwick Valley Central School District.

*This includes Chester residents
enrolled in the WVCSD.

Health Guidelines

The Summer Program adheres to the
guidelines recommended by the
Orange County Board of Health.

Parents are required to provide a copy of their
child(ren)’s immunization record to the program counselors.

Programs

Park Program

Days: Monday – Friday
Time: 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
Location: Stanley-Deming Park (South Street, Warwick)
Cost: $20 per child, per week

The Park Program includes arts and crafts, board games, sports, tournaments, and use of park equipment. This is a free-play program designed for children to enjoy a variety of supervised recreational activities throughout the day.

Please send your child with a bag lunch labeled with their name. An ice cream truck will also visit a few days each week. If your child will be purchasing a treat, please send their money in a labeled plastic bag.

Registration is required on a weekly basis. All weeks must be selected when registration opens.

A hard copy of your child’s immunization form must be submitted before your child can attend.

Drop-off options for immunization forms include Village Hall in a sealed envelope addressed to the Recreation Department, or during the designated drop-off night (to be announced).

Basketball

Days: Tuesday and Thursday
Time: 5:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Location: Stanley-Deming Park Basketball Courts (South Street)
Cost: $15 per child

This program focuses on the fundamentals of basketball, including dribbling, passing, shooting, and defense. Activities include lead-up games such as knockout and dribble tag, as well as basketball games to help children build skills and enjoy the sport in a fun and active environment.

Participants will be divided into age groups to ensure appropriate instruction and play.

Cheerleading

Days: Tuesday and Thursday
Time: 5:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Location: WVMS Tennis Pavilion
Cost: $15 per child

This program focuses on the fundamental skills of cheerleading in a fun and supportive environment. Participants will learn basic motions, chants, coordination, and teamwork while building confidence and having fun.

Lacrosse

Days: Monday and Wednesday
Time: 6:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
Location: WVMS Soccer Fields (behind the tennis courts)
Cost: $15 per child

This program focuses on the fundamentals of lacrosse, including throwing, catching, shooting, and lead-up games. It is designed to help children learn the sport in a fun and supportive environment.

This is a non-contact program, and plastic sticks will be provided.

Non-Contact Football

Days: Monday and Wednesday
Time: 5:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Location: WVHS Practice Football Field (behind the stadium)
Cost: $15 per child

This program focuses on the fundamentals of football, including throwing, catching, kicking, and playing touch football games. It is designed to help children build skills, stay active, and enjoy the game in a fun, non-contact environment.

Soccer

Days: Monday and Wednesday
Time: 5:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Location: WVMS Soccer Fields (behind the tennis courts)
Cost: $15 per child

This program focuses on the fundamentals of soccer, including dribbling, shooting, passing, and lead-up soccer games. Children will build skills, stay active, and enjoy the game in a fun and supportive environment.

Participants will be divided into age groups to ensure appropriate instruction and play.

Tennis

Days: Monday and Wednesday or Tuesday and Thursday
Time: 9:00 a.m. – 9:50 a.m., 10:00 a.m. – 10:50 a.m., or 11:00 a.m. – 11:50 a.m.
Location: WVMS Tennis Courts
Cost: $15 per child

This program focuses on the fundamentals of tennis, including forehand, backhand, serves, volleys, and lead-up tennis games. It is designed to help children build skills and confidence while learning the sport in a fun and active environment.

Participants must bring their own tennis racket. Children may only register for one time slot.

Track

Days: Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday
Time: 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.
Location: WVHS Track Complex
Cost: $15 per child

This program focuses on a variety of track and field activities, including stretching, running, relay races, hurdling, long jump, shot put, and high jump. It is designed to help children stay active, build athletic skills, and enjoy friendly competition in a fun and supportive environment.

Participants will be divided into age groups to ensure appropriate instruction and activities.
