❄️ From the Mayor’s Office – Impending Snow Event

Governor Kathy Hochul has declared a State of Emergency for New York State due to the impending winter storm. Forecasts are calling for the potential of significant snowfall and hazardous travel conditions.

Residents are strongly encouraged to avoid unnecessary travel during the storm to help keep roadways clear for emergency vehicles and to allow Department of Public Works crews to safely plow and treat Village streets.

Please remember that overnight street parking is prohibited through April 1. Residents are urged to keep all Village streets clear of parked vehicles for the duration of the storm to support snowplowing from curb to curb and emergency operations.

Residents are also reminded that snow and ice must remain on private property and may not be shoveled, plowed, or blown into public streets or rights-of-way, as this creates dangerous conditions and interferes with snow removal.

Residents are encouraged to prepare in advance by having essential supplies on hand and planning accordingly if travel is necessary. Motorists are reminded to use caution around snowplows and allow ample space for crews working to clear roadways.

If Orange & Rockland customers experience a power outage, outages may be reported by:

• Using the O&R mobile app
• Calling 1-877-434-4100 or texting “OUT” to 69678
