Warwick at Its Best!
Applefest 2025 went beautifully, with perfect weather and a tremendous turnout. My thanks to the Warwick Chamber of Commerce, the Warwick Community Center, the Applefest Committee, the Town of Warwick Police Department, and the Village of Warwick Department of Public Works for their incredible teamwork.
October is full of community events, and one of the highlights is the Warwick Children’s Book Festival, taking place on Sunday, October 12th at the Warwick Valley Middle School, 225 West Street, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is free.
The festival is a wonderful opportunity to meet authors and illustrators of books for children from Pre-K to 10th grade. Books will be available for purchase, and creators will be on hand to sign their work. At noon, there will be a free children’s concert, and food trucks will be available throughout the day. It’s a fun and inspiring event — a chance to meet the talented men and women who bring children’s stories to life. Over 70 authors and illustrators will be in attendance.
The festival is presented by the Albert Wisner Public Library and made possible through the generous sponsorship of Susan D. and Glenn P. Dickes. Proceeds benefit the Library Foundation, which helps fund many of the library’s programs and activities — another example of Warwick at its best!
Also on Sunday, October 12th, the Village’s NY Forward Task Force will be at the Warwick Farmers Market gathering public input for the Village’s NY Forward Grant Application. This grant focuses on downtown revitalization through transformative projects, and community feedback is an important part of the process.
