March 28, 2026 Public Demonstration – Traffic Advisory & Village Update

The Village is aware of the planned political demonstration on March 28 from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Railroad Green on Railroad Avenue.

The First Amendment protects the right of individuals to gather and express their views in public spaces. Parks, sidewalks, and the Village green are traditionally open for community use, including peaceful assemblies. In these settings, local governments are limited in when and how they can require permits or restrict activity.

Our primary responsibility is to protect public safety. The Village is focused on ensuring that the event is managed in a way that supports the safety of participants, residents, businesses, and emergency responders. This includes planning for traffic flow, maintaining emergency access, and coordinating appropriate public safety resources.

We are actively coordinating with the Police Department and relevant partners to prepare for a large turnout and to support the safety of participants, nearby residents, and local businesses. Planning efforts are focused on maintaining emergency access, supporting safe movement within and around the event area, and ensuring appropriate public safety resources are available. Railroad Avenue will be temporarily closed to vehicular traffic during the event, and traffic impacts are expected on surrounding streets.

We encourage all attendees to:

  • Follow directions from law enforcement and officials
  • Be mindful of crowd conditions and their surroundings
  • Keep access routes clear for emergency services
  • Respect the community—this is a shared space for all

Residents and visitors should anticipate increased activity in the area during the event and plan accordingly.

The Village will continue to monitor conditions and provide updates as appropriate.
