This past weekend, our Village was the site of a public demonstration in the downtown area at Railroad Green.
The right to peaceful assembly is a fundamental constitutional protection. At the same time, the Village has a responsibility to ensure the safety of all residents, visitors, and participants.
The Village and our Police Department worked with organizers and coordinated across other agencies to establish a defined time, area, implement safety measures, and maintain order throughout the protest.
We want to recognize the Town of Warwick Police Department, whose calm and professional presence set the tone for the day, as well as the support provided by the Sheriff’s Office and the critical work of our Department of Public Works in managing public space and access.
We also acknowledge that increased activity in the Village created disruptions for residents and local businesses. We appreciate the community’s patience as we carried out our responsibility to manage this event safely.
Due to the snow storm and snow removal there will be no parking on Main Street Until Further Notice
