Applefest
Applefest will be celebrating 35 years this Sunday, October 5, 2025. As I write this, the last-minute preparations are under way.
The festival is organized by the Warwick Valley Chamber of Commerce. It is considered one of the best events of its kind in Orange County, if not the Hudson Valley. It draws hundreds of vendors and thousands of guests. It begins at 9:00 a.m. and ends at 5:00 p.m., and by Monday, October 6, there is little evidence that 30,000 folks visited our Village. The festival is the hard work of many hands: the Warwick Valley Chamber and Applefest Committee, the Warwick Community Center, the Village’s Department of Public Works, and the Town of Warwick Police. Safety is one of our greatest concerns, and the Warwick Police Department, with the help of other local law enforcement officers, ensures that the event is truly safe.
For many, Applefest is a tradition. Whether it’s inviting friends and family for the day, buying the iconic T-shirt designed by a local artist, or anticipating specific craft or food vendors, there are many reasons to visit this stellar event. Locals usually get in early and leave before the crowds. It is also a day when local nonprofits and churches can supplement their treasury, whether selling apple butter, slices of pie, or hot dogs. It’s a good thing!
The weather will be perfect, so come out to support and have fun. We are lucky to have a community that works so well together and knows how to make the apple shine!
